Inspired by the term “One-Man Band,” a phrase used to describe a single musician playing multiple instruments simultaneously, Geneviève Salamone merges technology with the classical violin to create The One-Woman Symphony. Through the use of pre-recorded accompaniment created within her recording studio and an acoustically amplified violin, Geneviève’s unique setup evokes a powerful performance experience- as though an entire symphony performs with her on stage. The Truth After Party
10 pm

Band Members: Charles Walker, Porsche Carmon, Dan Kennedy, Emmanuel Folkes
Deliciously Stanky.  Dynamically  Funky.  Recklessly Hopeful.  Grounded
in soul, the Charles Walker Band has been compared to Prince, Bruno Mars, The Brand New Heavys, and James Brown.  The Milwaukee based band has refined their sound into Neo-Funk, a fusion of funk infused rhythms with pop melodies.  The four-piece band rehearses tirelessly in Charles’ basement, amidst couches and low ceilings, Charles having to stoop the entire time.  The questions he always poses to the band are: How can this be tighter? How can this song look different? How can we get fans involved?  Fans love the band’s positive energy music and attend shows because they feel better than when they arrived.  The Charles Walker Band is Deliciously Stanky.  Dynamically Funky.  Recklessly Hopeful.

Youth Talent Showcase & Foundation

Research has empirically documented that young people who participate in music and art programs, especially at very young ages, benefit in a myriad of ways from being better mathematicians and scientist to having constructive outlets for their energies versus sitting in front of the television or a video game console.

Music improves organizational skills, social skills, etc…Yet the body politic has not only failed to meaningfully invest in youth and scholastic music and artistic development but these programs have been sacrificed in Iowa for years even as we’ve seen hundreds of millions put into athletic facilities like weight rooms and plush offices for bureaucrats.

The IowaStock Youth Talent Showcase & Foundation is dedicated to nurturing Iowa’s young musical talent, exposing our youth, particularly our impoverished children to Iowa’s musical excellence and legacy, and fighting for and supporting a re-investment in Iowa’s scholastic music and arts programs.

If you believe that exposing our youth to music and art opportunities is important you can be a founding member of the IowaStock Youth Talent Showcase & Foundation beginning at $100 dollars, or contributing whatever your heart tells you the value of this is.
