Isaac James was formed in 2008 in Kansas City, MO with members Blackie Starks, Joel Ekman, John Lillard, and Gil Cole.
Within a couple of years, the bands hard rock sound and energetic stage show had them sharing the stages with greats like Guns and Roses, Sevendust, Uncle Kracker, Drowning Pool, Stone Sour, Steele Panther and more.

Band Members: Isaac James, the band based out of Des Moines Iowa featuring Blackie Starks,  Joel Ekman (former STONE SOUR drummer),  Rich Cantrell, and Mike Ruby

Hometown in Iowa: Des Moines
The band released two efforts, Too Much Horsepower produced by Scott Spelbring and Shut Up and Listen produced by Larry Gann. Both releases garnered an international fanbase and yielded several FM singles.  Citing creative differences in April 2014, the band decided to take an indefinite break.

In April 2015, almost a year to the day later Joel and Blackie decided to put the band back together and write some more. They rounded out the reincarnation of Isaac James with two new well known and respected Iowa musicians, Rich Cantrell and Mike Ruby and now call Des Moines Iowa home.

Sam Lawson of Stardog Productions has taken on the role of band manager.
